Cybercampus Sverige is strengthening its presence in European research and innovation. As part of efforts to connect Swedish partners with international funding opportunities and research networks, Simona Pedde joins the team, bringing exactly the expertise Cybercampus needs to take the next step on the European stage.

Simona Pedde – the bridge between research, strategy and International collaboration

At Cybercampus Sverige, Simona's role is to strengthen strategic research coordination: building bridges between Cybercampus partners across Sweden, between researchers and funding opportunities under Horizon Europe and other international programmes, and between technical cybersecurity excellence and real-world societal impact.

Simona's academic background spans both natural and social sciences, focusing on climate risk, societal vulnerability, and long-term resilience. Her PhD examined European scenarios of high-end climate change, with a strong emphasis on systemic risk and policy relevance.

Her experience across European research projects and science-policy interfaces aligns closely with Cybercampus' research priorities: working across disciplines, institutions, and knowledge systems to support impactful and competitive international collaboration.

Research at Cybercampus

Cybercampus Sverige Research coordinates and strengthens cybersecurity research across universities, research institutes, and partners throughout Sweden. Its core mission is to:

· foster interdisciplinary research and strengthen Swedish participation and leadership in international consortia

· support the development of national cybersecurity research infrastructure

· increase international visibility for Swedish researchers and innovators

· connect universities, institutes, public actors, and industry to strengthen civil and military cyber defence, industrial competitiveness, and European collaboration
