Cybercampus Sweden steps up to meet training needs
Cybercampus Sweden is now taking a further step to meet the need for skills development for professionals and the promotion of lifelong learning in cybersecurity.
”We will develop courses, cover skills gaps and match courses with needs,” says Mette Svensson, who has been hired as a business developer for continuing education at Cybercampus Sweden.
The development of the programmes will take place in collaboration with Cybercampus Sweden's members and partners by creating synergies between the existing offerings and platforms of various educators around Sweden and the educational offerings.
Cybercampus Sweden will serve as the first entry point for modifying, adapting, and creating new ones where needed. Then, we will bring learning to established education or directly to Cybercampus Sweden and various programmes.
”I look forward to looking at what needs there are and to help with matches and further development related to cybersecurity to bring learning on to a range of programmes that are already established at various universities or created in collaboration with Cybercampus Sweden,” says Mette Svensson.
Efforts to close skills gaps
Mette Svensson's role at Cybercampus Sweden as a business developer for continuing education is part of the initiative to fill the skills gap in cybersecurity education. Mette Svensson has a lengthy background working in education. Among other things, she has worked with the internationalisation of higher education, collaborations, partnerships and projects in the role of Senior International Advisor for the Royal Institute of Technology's collaboration with India as a priority region.
”This meant I collaborated with Indian partners, universities and companies. Among other things, I developed the UNITE! - project, which is a university alliance within the framework of European universities,” she says.
In recent years, Mette Svensson has worked at Nackademin, a university of applied sciences, where she was responsible for FöretagsNackademin, which developed professional courses.
”Nackademin was one of the first to become a partner with Cybercampus Sweden, so it feels extra fun for me personally to be now involved in promoting continuing education in the field. She says that cybersecurity affects everyone and that education is needed in the field,” she says.
