First cohort starts in Cybercampus Startup Program
Eight startups have started in the first cohort of the Cybercampus Startup Program. The program runs for six months and is built for cybersecurity startups in Sweden. Cybercampus Sverige runs the program, developed in collaboration with DigitalWell Ventures.
The cohort met for kickoff in Stockholm, with all eight teams in the room. The eight companies are True Integrations, Echo Alpha, HEJDAR, Eggsplain, VyPr AI, NodeX Cloud, Skeptiva, and Myrstack.
Jonathan Myhr, Christer Hernestig, and Jacob Henricson held a panel discussion under the heading "Innovating in a Protected World: Navigating the Challenges of Innovation in Cybersecurity", on the road from idea to market, what it takes to understand what the market needs and why good technology rarely wins on its own. Elina Jonsson, strategic advisor in security policy and total defence, then spoke about how we build resilience together. The teams also met potential mentors in a speed dating format.
The Cybercampus Startup Program is built on one principle: build the right thing before you build it right. Buyers in cybersecurity are conservative, risk-aware, and ask for evidence. The startups that succeed understand the technology and also the real problem, how procurement works, what regulation requires, and how trust is built.
The cohort works through who the actors in Swedish cybersecurity are, how buying decisions are made in security-critical environments, what counts as proof, go-to-market for long and risk-sensitive sales cycles, regulation and policy in Sweden and the EU, product and market validation through introductions in our partner network, and preparation for investment.
The program brings together universities and research institutes, public agencies, industry and infrastructure operators, established cybersecurity companies and integrators, as well as investors.
Cybercampus Sverige is a national initiative for research, innovation, and education in cybersecurity and cyber defence. DigitalWell Ventures develops and runs startup programs and services within digital innovation.
The first cohort is now under way. We look forward to following the eight teams over the next six months.
