AIST-Lab
The AIST Lab is an innovative laboratory aimed at promoting research, education, and collaboration regarding:
AI, simulation, and teaching
Primarily teacher education and schools, but also other higher education and professional development
Various relevant stakeholders
The goal is to gather a wide range of perspectives and approaches regarding AI, simulation, and teaching while creating a platform where researchers, teachers, students, and professionals from various fields can meet.
AIST Lab provides researchers, teachers, and students with the opportunity to develop and test various AI tools and train teaching skills (such as leadership, teaching, and subject didactics) in simulations with avatars. By building on LiU's strengths in AI, engineering education, and teacher education, AIST Lab can serve as a national hub to strengthen AI competence not only in teacher education but also in other professional education programs.

Cybersecurity Lab
The cybersecurity lab at Linköping University offers facilities that are tailored for teaching cybersecurity in undergraduate and professional training programs. These facilities enable training in both offensive and defensive cybersecurity within secure settings.
The cybersecurity lab is an environment where students and security experts can test and develop techniques for protection against cyber threats. The environment enables exercises that train both defensive and offensive security.
In defensive security training, one practices defending systems. Various types of security incidents are simulated and managed, helping to prepare for real attacks. In offensive security training, systems are attacked, thereby learning how to build systems that can better withstand attacks.

The purpose of the activity laboratory is to develop technology and methods to support everyday activities in the home environment. The goal is for people with disabilities to be able to live a rich life for as long as possible. The activity laboratory therefore has new technology for studying activity to develop both technology, assessment methods and interventions.
The activity laboratory is used for both research and teaching on the assessment of needs and measures for people to function in their daily activities in the home environment. The Activity Lab also serves as an environment for testing, innovation, development and demonstration together with municipalities, regions, companies and interest groups.
The activity lab is designed as a next-generation "smart home" where as many parameters as possible around a person's activity can be monitored with different types of systems. In the lab there are passive systems that are integrated into the environment and active systems that are worn by the person. Together, all these technical devices provide a large amount of data that can be integrated into a data analysis and management system.

ArcTech Learning Lab
ArcTech Learning Lab aims to strengthen research on innovative digital teaching methods and digital solutions for learning at all levels of education.
The business brings together researchers together with other actors to experiment with new technologies such as virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI) and digital teacher resources to develop the learning of the future.
The ArcTech Learning Lab research area was started, among other things, due to the great lack of competence that prevails in digital learning. Especially within the school's activities, there is a great need to strengthen competence in the area. In the Arctic region, where we operate, the need for digitalisation and distance learning is particularly important due to the great distances.

Instance Lab
Instance lab has been established since 2018, as part of the Master program in Information Security with great success and recognition. The Lab has since evolved into a more dynamic platform that can serve not only education within Information Security, but a platform with an adaptable application layer for creating the possibility to change application domains feasible for specific need for any firm, organization or scenario at any given time.
Introducing Instance Lab, for practical cyber security training on distance, virtually, or physically. The objective is to provide an interactive platform for practical, hands-on learning using realistic scenarios, tailored exercises, and gamified challenges. Instance Lab emphasizes a safe, isolated training environment where users dare test, experiment, and do faults.
Instance Lab provide a flexible platform for any information security topic in a safe, dynamic and isolated environment. The labplatform provides the ability to practice and exercise custom scenarios, on distance, virtually or physically that suits your need. Tailor scenarios based on your needs, like cybersecurity training for employees, threat intelligence teaching, stress or penetration testing of your services and products. The name Instance comes from the philosophy that every scenario requires dedicated and isolated IT environments, instances, that can be created and deployed on demand.

AstaZero
AstaZero is the world’s first full-scale independent test environment for the automated transport system of the future. What is unique about the facility is that the different traffic environments make it possible to test advanced safety systems and their functions for all kinds of traffic and traffic situations.
Mission-critical communication systems ensure that emergency staff and other key stakeholders can communicate reliably, instantaneously and securely when responding to critical situations. AstaZero provides support throughout the phases from product development to certification and tests of integrated solutions in AstaZero 4G/5G test environments. AstaZero is a GCF Recognized Test Organisation (RTO). Utilising the NorthStar network, AstaZero facilitates, e.g., testing of self-driving trucks within a private closed network, mimicking scenarios like ports or logistics centers.
Cyber Range is a test bed managed by RISE, where you can build a virtual environment that is completely controlled, and offer tools for creating stable and secure IT systems. Here, companies and organisations can test new parts of a system to see if they have built it correctly and identify any weaknesses.
The target group for Cyber range is both industry and the public sector. Many small and medium-sized companies often lack the resources and infrastructure to perform this type of test. The new site in Kista is a way to make test and demo environments for cyber security available to customers and partners. It will also be a natural place for skills development and training where it is easy to gain access to expertise.
